Linear and Non Linear Recognition for the Sorption of 60Co and 152+154Eu Radionuclides onto Bio CuO Nanocomposite

Abstract A novel nanocomposite was prepared by hybridizing polyacrylic acid/maleic acid with nano copper oxide (PAACMA/CuO) for the sorption of 60 Co (II) and 152+154 Eu (III) radionuclides from an aqueous solution. Nano-CuO biochemically produced hydrolysing its salt in presence Aspergillus terreus fungus. The PAACMA/CuO characterized using a variety analytical techniques. optimum conditions (pH 4.5 pH 3.53 Eu, 24 h equilibrium time at 20 o C) were applied. kinetic mechanism reaction controlled pseudo second order based on residual charts, coefficient determination (R 2 ), corrected Akaike information Criterion (AIC c ). Langmuir model linear regression Dubinin-Radushkevich D-R AIC plots error functions. throughout non-linear due to determination, , charts. had mono-layer adsorption capacity 11.04 mg g − 1 21.54 (III).
